Requirements for Appointment
Be a Citizen of Kenya;
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
Been Registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (ERB);
a current valid annual Practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;
Corporate membership with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK);
Attended a Strategic Leadership Development Course lasting not less than six (6) weeks form a recognized institution;
Demonstrated general administrative ability required for direction, control and implementation of civil engineering programmes including supervision of professional and technical staff; and
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities
Planning, controlling and coordinating of designs, construction supervision, repair and maintenance of roads;
Checking and recommending for approval of engineering consultants designs including evaluation, certifying and recommending fees submitted by consultants and contractors;
Co-ordination of improvements of roads services;
Supervision of Construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of classified and unclassified roads;
Preparation of tender documents;
Monitoring the execution of roads development projects and supervision and training of engineers and technical staff; and
Any other duty assigned from time to time.
