Job Requirements
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer (Cicil) to plan, design, and supervise construction projects from conception to completion.
The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations
Education & Certification
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree is an advantage).
Professional certification or registration with a recognized engineering body (e.g., COREN or equivalent) is preferred.
Valid professional license where applicable.
Experience:
3 - 7years of relevant experience in civil engineering design.
Proven experience in the design of roads, buildings, drainage systems, bridges, or other infrastructure projects.
Experience working with consulting firms, construction companies, or government projects is an added advantage.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, and standards.
Proficiency in design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, or similar tools.
Ability to prepare engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
Familiarity with structural analysis, geotechnical design, and construction materials.
Understanding of project lifecycle, from concept design to construction supervision.
Project & Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyse design requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Experience in cost estimation, design optimization, and value engineering.
Ability to review and approve design documents and contractor submissions.
Communication & Teamwork:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with architects, contractors, surveyors, and other engineers.
Strong presentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Compliance & Safety:
Knowledge of local and international engineering standards, building codes, and regulations.
Commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
