Job Summary
The Structural Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, and supervision of structural components for building and infrastructure projects. The role ensures that structures are safe, durable, cost-effective, and compliant with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering:
Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
Prepare structural drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure structural integrity and feasibility.
Develop design reports and provide technical recommendations.
Ensure compliance with local and international design codes and standards.
Conduct structural assessments and provide solutions for structural defects or failures.
Project Supervision & Coordination:
Provide technical support during construction and ensure works comply with approved designs and specifications.
Conduct site inspections and monitor structural works.
Review contractors' shop drawings and method statements.
Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Identify and resolve structural design or construction challenges.
Quality, Safety & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Monitor material quality and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Participate in risk assessments and mitigation planning.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in structural design and supervision.
Professional registration or membership with COREN & NSE is an added advantage.
Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, or similar).
Strong knowledge of structural design principles and construction practices.
