JOB SUMMARY

Our client in the packaging and labels industry is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead and drive the company's overall commercial strategy. The role will oversee sales performance across territories, manage key accounts, and work closely with senior leadership to optimize revenue growth, market positioning, pricing strategies, and customer profitability while ensuring alignment with operational capabilities and long-term business objectives.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Develop, implement, and manage the organization's commercial and sales strategy in line with business goals.
Provide leadership, direction, and performance oversight to Territory Sales Managers and the wider sales team.
Drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and market expansion across assigned regions and key customer segments.
Oversee key and strategic customer accounts, negotiating contracts, pricing structures, and long-term agreements.
Monitor sales performance against targets and budgets, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate closely with Production, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to ensure commercially viable and operationally sound solutions.
Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform pricing, product development, and go-to-market strategies.
Lead the development of sales forecasts, budgets, dashboards, and commercial performance reports for senior management.
Ensure effective implementation and usage of CRM systems, sales tools, and reporting frameworks.
Support the development and execution of promotional campaigns, product launches, and customer retention initiatives.
Manage commercial risk by ensuring contract compliance, credit control coordination, and adherence to company policies.
Contribute to strategic planning, business development initiatives, and continuous improvement across commercial operations.


QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE


Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 6 - 8 years' experience in sales or commercial roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
Strong background in B2B sales, preferably within packaging, manufacturing, industrial products, or FMCG.
Proven experience managing sales teams and delivering sustained revenue and margin growth.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze financial data and market trends.
Proficiency in CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and MS Office applications.
Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
