ROLE SUMMARY
A locum Community Oral Health Officer is required to provide basic oral health services oral examinations, dental extractions, scaling and polishing, and simple restorations, plus oral health education-expanding dental service availability during clinic sessions and demand peaks without additional permanent headcount.
REQUIREMENT
Conduct oral examinations and diagnose common oral/dental conditions within scope of practice.
Perform basic dental procedures-extractions, scaling and polishing, and temporary/permanent fillings.
Provide preventive oral health services (oral prophylaxis, fluoride application).
Deliver oral hygiene counselling and community oral health education.
Ensure sterilization and infection prevention & control compliance in the dental unit.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Refer complex cases to the Dentist appropriately.
Support dental screening camps and preventive dental programmes.
Education Level: Diploma in Community Oral Health.
Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in a clinical dental setting.
Relevant Previous Roles: Community Oral Health Officer in a hospital or clinic dental unit.
Any Other: Available for shift-based/clinic-session duty.
Required certifications, licenses or Registrations: Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC - Oral Health), valid annual practising licence.
