Job Summary
The Cook will be responsible for preparing quality meals in accordance with the restaurant's menu and standards, ensuring proper food handling, hygiene, and timely meal service.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
Food Quality and Presentation: Ensure all meals are well-presented, tasty, and served at the correct temperature.
Kitchen Hygiene and Safety: Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety and health regulations.
Ingredient Handling and Storage: Properly store food items, monitor freshness, and prevent spoilage or wastage.
Stock Control Support: Assist with inventory checks and report low stock levels to ensure uninterrupted kitchen operations.
Equipment Usage and Care: Use kitchen equipment safely and ensure tools and appliances are properly cleaned and maintained.
Time Management: Ensure meals are prepared and served promptly, especially during peak service periods.
Compliance with Standards: Follow kitchen procedures, hygiene standards, and company policies at all times.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
1 - 3 years experience as a Cook or similar role.
Basic knowledge of local and continental dishes is an advantage.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
