Job Description
The Cook I, KEWI 10 reports to the Senior Cook, KEWI 9.
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
Ensuring proper storage of food stuffs;
Setting up of food service areas and placement of food in serving lines;
Supervising and replenishing food stuffs during service;
Recording and reporting low stock levels;
Detecting and reporting spoilt or unattractive food; and
Detecting and reporting defective equipment.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
Served for a cumulative period of six (6) years relevant work experience of, three (3) at the grade of Cook II or in a comparable position;
Certificate in any of the following Courses: - Food Production, Food and Beverage Production, Catering and Hotel Management or equivalent qualification lasting not less than six (6) months from a recognised institution;
Certificate of medical examination in line with the Food, Drugs and Chemical Substance Act;
Proficiency in computer applications; and
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
