Where do you fit?
Junior:
0 - 2 years of experience in Cyber Security, IT, Networking, or Software Engineering
Basic knowledge of security principles (e.g., vulnerabilities, threats, authentication, networks)
Exposure to scripting or programming (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar)
Willingness to learn penetration testing, threat monitoring, and security tooling
Curiosity, problemÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂsolving mindset, and comfort working in fastÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂmoving environments.
Intermediate:
3 - 5 years of experience in Cyber Security or Security Engineering roles
Practical experience with penetration testing, incident response, or vulnerability remediation
Ability to build or enhance security tools or automation
Strong understanding of networking, cloud, IAM, and security architecture
Experience working with crossÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂfunctional tech teams
Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Security+, CEH, Azure/AWS security certifications)
Senior:
5+ years of Cyber Security Engineering experience
Deep technical expertise across security domains (AppSec, Cloud Security, IAM, Threat Detection, or Engineering Security Tools)
Ability to design, implement, and optimise security toolsets and processes
Experience conducting penetration testing, leading investigations, and driving remediation plans
Strong programming skills to build advanced security tooling
Proven experience partnering with engineering, architecture, and product teams to embed security into solutions
Advanced certifications are advantageous (OSCP, CISSP, GIAC, etc.)
Qualifications (Minimum)
Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology - Computer Science

Zero Trust principles by understanding identity and access management (IAM), implementing least-privilege access, and using (JIT/JEA) to strengthen AD security.
