Job Purpose
The Director, Finance and Planning will provide strategic leadership and expert guidance in financial management, budgetary control, strategic planning, and performance monitoring. This role is critical to ensuring optimal resource utilization, financial sustainability and compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks, all in support of the Hospital's strategic objectives.
Duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director will:
Lead the development and implementation of financial policies, strategies and systems.
Oversee financial control, reporting and compliance with statutory regulations.
Direct finance and accounting operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Prepare and present timely financial reports to management and the Board.
Implement recommendations of internal and external audits.
Safeguard hospital assets through robust internal control systems.
Advise on payments for projects, services and programs.
Drive strategic planning and performance monitoring across the Hospital.
Lead the budgeting process and ensure effective budgetary control.
Develop financial strategies for long-term sustainability.
Coordinate planning, monitoring and evaluation functions.
Prepare and submit Board and Management reports.
Manage and lead finance and planning teams for excellence in service delivery.
Any other duty as may be assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
Bachelor's degree in any of the following: Commerce, Business Management, Business Administration (Accounting or Finance option), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Master's degree in any of the following: Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration,
Finance or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Professional certification: CPA (K), CFA, ACCA, CISM, or CISA.
Registration with ICPAK or equivalent professional body.
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with 5 years in senior management level or a comparable position.
Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.
