You'll guide teams, solve operational challenges, maintain global standards, and keep performance on track. When things get tough, you're the one the team turns to. When the Operations Manager is away, you step up and take charge.

What You'll Own

Operational Excellence & Network Standards


Supervise SVC shifts to ensure on-time, accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
Manage the station in the absence of the Operations Manager.
Ensure every process meets DHL's Global SOP and GIMS compliance requirements.
Lead self-audits, close GRID gaps, and maintain ISO standards.


Compliance & Risk Management


Keep quality at the core of every customer interaction — first time, every time.
Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks in real time.
Ensure alignment with security, aviation, and regulatory requirements.


Transportation & Network Performance


Ensure all transport schedules run like clockwork.
Update NMIV within 15 minutes of arrival/departure to keep the network moving.


Inbound Operations


Ensure accurate scanning and processing of inbound shipments.
Immediately address Missorts and route them back to Gateway.
Resolve Bad Address issues before couriers depart.
Monitor route performance and courier departure accuracy.


Outbound Operations


Ensure all courier collections are completed and debriefed.
Manage outbound processing to meet network cut-off times.
Complete security, DG, and denied-party compliance checks.
Segregate High Value & DA65 shipments and pre-alert Gateway.


Sorting, Bagging & Accuracy


Oversee domestic and international sorting and bagging operations.
Ensure shipments are routed correctly and scanned at every checkpoint.
Protect the integrity of bags, containers, labels, and handling unit data.


Security & Safety


Partner with the Security & Risk Manager to maintain a safe, compliant environment.
Enforce ID, visitor access, and alarm/LDAP login rules.
Report all incidents immediately — zero compromise on safety.


Performance Management & Productivity


Drive performance using the Operations Scorecard and KPI data.
Monitor Advance QCC and eCases and follow up on "red" shipments.
Promote continuous improvement across all workflows.


Housekeeping & Brand Standards


Maintain neat, updated noticeboards and organized work areas.
Ensure vehicles and couriers reflect DHL's premium brand image.
Report equipment failures or maintenance needs promptly.


Leadership & People Development


Recruit, build, and develop a motivated, high-performing team.
Plan daily staffing to meet business and network demands.
Conduct PD sessions, 1:1s, appraisals, coaching, and disciplinary processes fairly.
Foster trust through an open-door policy.
Drive morale through engagement campaigns and team initiatives.
Identify high-potential talent and support succession planning.
Host monthly team meetings with documented action plans.


Ad Hoc Responsibilities


Support any operational activity required to keep the station efficient, compliant, and aligned to network standards.
