Job Purpose
The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that supports the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children in the early years (typically ages 2 - 5). The role focuses on laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning through play-based and developmentally appropriate practices.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the school's curriculum framework.
Use play-based and inquiry-based learning strategies.
Support early literacy, numeracy, and social skills development.
Observe and assess children's progress and maintain accurate records.
Child Development & Welfare
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Monitor children's emotional and social development.
Identify developmental delays or concerns and escalate appropriately.
Ensure adherence to safeguarding and child protection policies.
Classroom Management
Maintain an organised, stimulating, and child-friendly classroom.
Prepare learning materials and resources.
Promote positive behaviour through guidance and reinforcement.
Parent Engagement
Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress.
Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.
Provide guidance to parents on supporting learning at home.
Compliance & Professional Standards
Adhere to school policies, safety procedures, and regulatory standards.
Maintain confidentiality of child and family information.
Participate in ongoing professional development activities.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree or NCE in Early Childhood Education or related field
Relevant teaching certification
2 - 4 years' experience in early years education (preferred)
