Job Description


As the Elect-Elect Technician, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing both electrical power systems and electronic components across our facility.
You will handle everything from high-voltage power distributions (generators, control panels) to low-voltage electronic circuits and appliances. The ideal candidate must be a hands-on problem solver who can quickly resolve faults to prevent operational downtime.


Key Responsibilities


Electrical System Maintenance: Regularly inspect, test, and maintain electrical wiring, lighting systems, distribution boards, and power backup systems (Inverters, UPS, and Generators).
Electronic Equipment Repair: Diagnose and repair faults in electronic circuits, control panels, appliances, and specialized workplace machinery.
Fault Isolation & Troubleshooting: Respond swiftly to power outages, short circuits, or equipment failures; isolate the root cause and execute safe repairs.
New Installations: Lay conduits, pull wires, and install new electrical fittings, fixtures, breakers, and electronic gadgets according to safety regulations.
Preventative Maintenance: Carry out routine scheduled maintenance checks on all critical electrical/electronic installations to prevent sudden failures.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical works comply with safety standards and regulations; maintain a clean and hazard-free workshop.
Inventory Control: Track usages of electrical spares (breakers, cables, bulbs, relays) and advise management on necessary reorders.


Requirements


Education: SSCE, National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Trade Test I, II & III, or a Nabteb certification in a related technical discipline.
Experience: 2 - 4 years of practical, hands-on experience working as an electrician or maintenance technician in a corporate, industrial, or medical facility.
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of both single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, circuit diagrams, and schematics.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools like multi-meters, insulation testers, and oscillo-meters.
Physical Fitness & Safety: Ability to work in tight spaces, climb ladders, and lift heavy equipment while strictly adhering to electrical safety guidelines (PPE usage).
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a disciplined, systematic approach to troubleshooting.
Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or shifts if emergencies arise.
