Job Summary


African Steel Mill is seeking a competent and motivated Female Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team at the Odogunyan plant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment within the steel production facility, ensuring optimal plant performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards.


Key Responsibilities


Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems including motors, drives, transformers, panels, MCCs, and PLC-controlled equipment.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on plant electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
Monitor electrical performance of rolling mill, furnace, cranes, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
Diagnose electrical faults and implement timely repairs to ensure uninterrupted production.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in plant shutdowns, installations, upgrades, and commissioning of new equipment.
Support energy efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Supervise technicians and contractors when required.


Requirements & Qualifications


B.Eng / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
3 - 10 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment (steel, manufacturing, power plant, cement, or heavy industry is an advantage).
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, drives (VFDs), PLC basics, and power distribution.
