PURPOSE

The Electrician is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient electrical operations by installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the fleet workshop.

THE JOB​


Perform routine inspection and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate testing tools (e.g., multimeters, insulation testers).
Repair or replace defective wiring, components, and electrical systems.
Respond promptly to electrical faults to minimize equipment downtime.
Investigate issues such as power failures, short circuits, and equipment breakdowns.
Test electrical systems after installation or repairs to ensure proper functionality.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
Contribute to achieving utilization targets and productivity goals.


THE PERSON MUST ​


Have strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Be safety-conscious with a strong understanding of electrical safety standards.
Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in diagnostics and repairs.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Possess good time management and ability to meet daily and monthly utilization targets.
Be physically fit and capable of working with workshop tools and equipment.


QUALIFICATION


Minimum: Trade Test certificate, SSCE, or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Technical knowledge of electrical systems is required.
Additional certifications in electrical maintenance or safety will be an advantage.


EXPERIENCE​


Minimum of 2 years' experience in industrial or workshop electrical maintenance.
Prior experience working in fleet maintenance or heavy-duty equipment environment is an advantage.
