Responsibilities


Operates machine to embroider name/logo, initial, or decorative designs on garments, household articles, material, uniforms etc.
To stitch cording, braid, or emblems on material or garments, following stamped/approved design.
Input logo into embroidery machine using floppy disk
Observe sewing operation to detect defects in stitching that indicate machine malfunction and notify supervisor of malfunction at any point.
Ironing of embroidering material to smooth area using hand iron.
Repairing of defective embroidery or fill in blanks left by embroidery machine.
Hoop and center material to prepare for processing on embroidery machine
Switching the machine on / off
Threading the machine and replacement of bobbins
Logo framing, ranging, machine loading, offloading and stitch monitoring.
Quality control and continuous monitoring of product quality.
Machine sound and problem monitoring.
Cleaning the machine and area of work at the end of every shift
Filling in the Machine Maintenance Log Book
Any other duties assigned


Qualifications


Must have a KCSE, (Certificate /short courses in vocational training on the same will be an added advantage)
Minimum of 1-2 years working experience in the same position


Skills & Experience required


Machine operation experience: Prior experience operating industrial embroidery machines especially multi-head machines is highly preferred.
Computer literacy: Ability to load and interpret digital embroidery files and use basic computer controls on the machine is often required.
Attention to detail: Essential for ensuring quality, correct placement, and color accuracy of embroidery.
Basic troubleshooting: Ability to detect issues (thread breaks, tension problems, misalignment) and perform routine maintenance.
Physical stamina: Standing for long periods, hoisting garments, and manually adjusting heavy fabric are often part of the job.
Communication and teamwork: For coordinating production schedules, reporting issues, and working with colleagues.
