Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in Regulatory Compliance:
Keep abreast of local, state, and national environmental, social, health, and safety regulations.
Support the ESHS Officer in ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to ESHS activities.
Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Environment Health & Safety Training and Awareness:
Assist in organizing and conducting training sessions for employees on safety and environmental practices.
Conduct Safety Awareness Talks to employees ranging from use of PPEs to operation of the water treatment plants,
Promote awareness of ESHS policies and guidelines throughout the organization.
Health and Safety Incident Response:
Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response and incident management procedures.
Assist in investigating and documenting incidents, accidents, or near-miss events.
Environmental Management:
Support in the development and execution of environmental programs, including waste management and pollution control.
Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics.
Social Responsibility:
Assist in managing community and stakeholder relations related to ESHS matters.
Engage in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives when applicable.
GIS Data Collection
Work with GIS Expert to collect and collate all digital data for the company,
Use of the Kobo Collect Tool to update ongoing project to ensure remote supervision by the World Bank
Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
Be a Kenyan Citizen
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a related discipline.
Knowledge of environmental, social, health, and safety regulations and best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
Have at least three (3) years' experience in ESHS programs and experience in Doner funded projects.
Knowledge of relevant software tools for data analysis and reporting.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
Registration as Associate Member to the National Environment Management Authority and the Environment Institute of Kenya is an added advantage,
