Annual Basic Salary: (R 405 175,50 - R 525 942,27) excluding benefits
Reporting Structure: The post reports to the Chief Environmental Health Practitioner.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12
National Diploma in Environmental Health
Degree in Environmental Health will be an added advantage
Code B Driving License
Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa
Computer Literate
Peace Officer Certificate will be an added advantage
Customer Care Certificate will be an added advantage
2 years' experience in the field of Environmental Health or equivalent
Key Performance Areas:
Monitoring water quality and availability, including mapping of water sources and enforcing laws and regulations related to water quality management.
Ensure food safety in respect of acceptable microbiological and chemical standards, quality of all food for human consumption and optimal hygiene control.
Waste management and general hygiene monitoring.
Health surveillance of premises and ensure compliance with prescribed legislation.
Surveillance and prevention of communicable diseases, excluding immunization.
Vector control monitoring.
Environmental pollution control through ensuring hygienic working, living and identifying polluting agents
Monitor practices in relation with Disposal of the Dead (exhumations, monitor practices at cemeteries and crematoria) and inspection of funeral undertakers.
Chemical safety monitoring
Health education and awareness.
