Our client is seeking a highly skilled and performance-driven Equity Trader to join its investment team.
This role is critical to executing equity strategies, optimizing portfolio performance, and ensuring strict regulatory compliance within Nigeria's capital market framework.
Key Responsibilities
Execute equity trades (local and international markets where applicable) in alignment with approved investment mandates and strategies.
Monitor market trends, price movements, liquidity conditions, and macroeconomic indicators to identify profitable trading opportunities.
Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts to implement tactical and strategic asset allocation decisions.
Manage order flow, risk exposure, and transaction costs to maximize returns.
Ensure full compliance with regulatory guidelines set by the Securities and Exchange Commission Nigeria and the Nigerian Exchange Group.
Maintain accurate trade records, reporting documentation, and audit trails.
Build and sustain strong relationships with brokers, custodians, and other market counterparties.
Requirements
5 - 7 years of hands-on experience as an Equity Trader within a registered and licensed Asset Management Firm (mandatory due to regulatory requirements).
Strong understanding of Nigerian capital markets, trading systems, and regulatory frameworks.
Proven track record of delivering consistent trading performance.
Deep analytical capability, risk management expertise, and high attention to detail.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIS, CFA - added advantage).
High ethical standards, discretion, and regulatory awareness.
