Role Overview

Sacvin Nigeria Limited, a leading manufacturer of PVC, PPR, and HDPE piping solutions, is seeking a skilled and experienced Extrusion Technician (Electrical) to support the efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems associated with extrusion production lines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, maintaining production efficiency, diagnosing electrical faults, and supporting preventive maintenance activities across PVC and PPR extrusion machines and auxiliary equipment.

Key Responsibilities


Assist in the setup and calibration of extrusion machinery to meet production specifications
Monitor equipment during production runs to identify and address any operational issues promptly
Collaborate with production staff to ensure seamless operation and minimal disruption during maintenance activities
Train and mentor apprentices and less experienced technicians
Participate in root cause analysis to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance (PM) schedules
Carry out PM schedules as necessary and planned work orders as required, and provide feedback to develop the system
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Conduct regular safety inspections and participate in safety training programs
Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage
Promote environmental issues and ensure all company procedures are understood and followed
Work within the 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) methodology to maintain the workplace to a high standard
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and equipment performance data
Provide detailed reports on equipment status, maintenance needs, and completed repairs
Report breakdown of root causes, equipment faults, and concerns to management
Identify spare requirements and log usage
Estimate the length of time required to complete a job and the likely consequences of failure to complete work within the required timescales
Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations
Ensure company targets are met with respect to quality


Qualifications and Experience


HND, OND, or Trade Test Certification in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in industrial electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience working with PVC, PPR, plastic extrusion, or related production equipment will be an added advantage.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
