We need a proactive, safety-conscious specialist to deliver expert on-site maintenance, diagnostics, overhauls, and commissioning according to global OEM standards.
Key Requirements:
Education: B.Eng or HND in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Marine Engineering.
Experience: 4 - 6 years of verifiable hands-on field experience in Oil & Gas / Energy.
OEM Expertise: Waukesha engines, Cooper compressors, GE LM2500 gas turbines, Ariel, or Solar Turbines.
Certifications: Valid BOSIET (with HUET & EBS), NUPRC OSP, and NEBOSH IGC.
Technical Skills: Laser alignment, vibration analysis, P&ID literacy, CMMS/SAP B1, and RCA.
Duties & Responsibilities
Execute on-site mechanical installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of rotating equipment, gas compressors, and power management units strictly adhering to OEM procedures.
Perform rapid mechanical diagnostics and corrective repairs during unscheduled customer shutdowns to minimize production downtime.
Draft detailed technical reports, mechanical root-cause analyses (RCA), and daily progress logs to document structural interventions for clients and management.
Manage mechanical field tooling logistics, ensuring all specialized alignment gear, torque tools, and calibration equipment are accounted for, certified, and safe to use.
Identify on-site technical upgrades, parts replacement needs, and service opportunities to proactively generate new sales leads.
Enforce precise QA/QC, NEBOSH standards, and HSE safety protocols across all field tasks, eliminating mechanical and environmental hazards before initiating work.
Conduct regular machine health checks, shaft alignment, vibration analysis, and baseline calibrations on operational field machinery.
Provide foundational technical training and mentorship to newer field service engineers and entry-level interns.
Interface cross-functionally with client engineers and OEM technical support to resolve complex mechanical anomalies.
Coordinate personnel and equipment manifests, verifying that required resources and personal survival certifications match specific deployment parameters.
Knowledge & Technical Competencies
Advanced diagnostic knowledge of mechanical rotating equipment, high-pressure compressors, gas turbines, and gas engines backed by OEM technical credentials.
Strong mechanical blueprint, layout, and P&ID reading literacy.
Proficiency in handling precision machinery laser alignment tools, industrial calibration gear, hydraulic torque wrenches, and vibration analyzers.
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or ERPs (such as SAP Business One).
Strong technical writing skills for data-driven reports using Microsoft Office Suite.
Commercial awareness to spot machinery wear-and-tear and convert mechanical needs into service opportunities.
