ROLE OVERVIEW
An experienced and detail-oriented Finance & Internal Control Manager to oversee the company's finance, accounting, tax, treasury, and internal control functions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting skills with sound financial management and control discipline to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and effective financial stewardship of the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Monitor and analyze financial performance, variances, and key cost drivers.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Budgeting, Planning & Treasury Management
Lead the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts.
Manage company cash flow, liquidity, and treasury activities to support operations and growth.
Oversee bank relationships and ensure efficient use of financial resources.
Tax & Statutory Compliance
Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory obligations (taxes, pensions, etc.).
Liaise with tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory bodies as required.
Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and accounting regulations affecting the business.
Internal Control & Risk Management
Design, implement, and monitor effective internal control systems across the business.
Identify financial and operational risks and recommend corrective measures.
Ensure adherence to company policies and proper documentation of financial processes.
Support audit activities and ensure compliance with audit recommendations.
Leadership & Team Management
Supervise and develop the finance and accounting team.
Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial integrity across all operations.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree is an added advantage).
Professional qualification: ICAN or equivalent (mandatory).
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, with at least 6 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proven experience in accounting, internal control, and financial management within an SME or corporate environment.
Experience in QSR industry is desirable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
