ROLE OVERVIEW
The Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading the sourcing, purchasing, and supply of materials and services required for interior design projects. This role is critical to ensuring cost efficiency, quality assurance, and timely availability of materials, while building strong supplier relationships and supporting overall project delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead procurement planning and sourcing strategies across multiple projects
Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors
Source materials, finishes, furniture, and fittings in line with design specifications and budgets
Manage purchase orders, supplier timelines, and delivery schedules
Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply risks
Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid project delays
Work closely with QS and finance teams to align procurement with project budgets
Drive cost optimization and profit margin protection initiatives without compromising quality or timelines
Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency sourcing plan for imported and local procurement
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier contracts, and transactions
Track procurement budgets, spend analysis, and cost savings
Monitor and maintain inventory records for items in the company store, and identify opportunities to utilise existing inventory to reduce unnecessary purchases and optimise costs
Ensure proper tracking of materials received, issued, and remaining in stock
Prepare reports on supplier performance, delivery timelines, and procurement efficiency
Document sourcing strategies, vendor comparisons, and pricing benchmarks
Develop and maintain a centralised vendor bank of vendors, pre-qualified suppliers, and contractors for streamlined sourcing and historical pricing reference.
Manage all shipping documents, Form M (if importing), insurance papers, and waybills to ensure a 100% audit trail.
Provide regular updates on procurement status across projects
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers
Negotiate effectively with external partners to secure favourable terms
Engage internal stakeholders (design, project, QS, finance) to align procurement with project needs
Manage supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delays, or pricing
Provide management with insights on supplier risks, cost trends, and sourcing opportunities globally
Ensure accountability from vendors on delivery timelines and quality standards
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with the design team during the concept phase to suggest cost-effective material alternatives that don't compromise the aesthetic.
Work closely with the Finance team to manage cash flow requirements for upcoming large-scale purchases and import duties.
Coordinate with project managers to align procurement timelines with project schedules
Collaborate with QS to ensure cost control and budget alignment
Communicate clearly with suppliers to avoid errors and delays
Ensure seamless information flow between procurement, site, and other teams
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics or related field. Professional certification (e.g., CIPS or APICS) is a major advantage.
Minimum of 5 - 8 years' experience in procurement or sourcing roles
Experience in construction, interior design, furniture, or retail sourcing is a strong advantage
Proven track record in vendor management and cost negotiation

Proven experience navigating Nigerian Customs, clearing agents, and \"last-mile\" logistics within Lagos.
Strong understanding of local and international sourcing markets
Familiarity with procurement systems and ERP tools
