Purpose of the role:
To Contribute to making the Westfalia Africa Finance Team successful in a high performance and driven environment through providing high level, proactive financial accounting and financial reporting services including general journals, reconciliations, internal controls and generating various reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly General journals as allocated by the accountant to be passed and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and reconciling items are timeously followed up.
Month end TB is submitted to Senior financial accountant and Financial Manager for review
Meet month end procedures and deadlines,
Assist with various reports and information as directed by the senior accountants.
Assist with fixed Asset Management, ensuring that the fixed assets are duly agreed to the general ledger, assets recorded are complete and can be verified
Ensure intercompany confirmations are sent out and balanced monthly
Monthly preparation and submission of VAT returns
Other ad hoc requirements as and when requested by Senior staff
Education:
Minimum of National Diploma in Financial Management or equivalent qualification
Experience:
At least 2-3 years' experience of working in an accounts department
Experience with audits, both internal and external
