An exciting opportunity has become available with a leading national logistics and supply chain organisation for a commercially focused Financial Controller to join their Finance team.
This is not a traditional financial reporting role. We are looking for someone who enjoys partnering with operations, analysing branch performance, identifying trends and driving profitability across a national branch network.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, analyse and manage branch Profit & Loss statements across multiple branches.
Analyse revenue, expenses, margins and operational cost drivers.
Identify financial trends, risks and opportunities to improve branch profitability.
Partner with Branch Managers to review monthly financial performance and recommend optimisation initiatives.
Investigate variances and provide meaningful commercial insights.
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
Monitor and improve key cost drivers including fleet, labour, fuel and transport costs.
Produce accurate management reports and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Travel to branches to engage with operational teams and support performance improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Accounting or a related field.
CA(SA) or CIMA qualification (or significant progress towards completion) will be highly advantageous.
Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in Financial Controlling, Commercial Finance or Management Accounting.
Proven experience managing branch or multi-site Profit & Loss reporting.
Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis experience.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience within the logistics, transport, courier, distribution or supply chain industry is essential.
Experience with Power BI and ERP reporting systems will be advantageous.
