We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Financial Director to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in driving the financial performance and strategic direction of a leading automotive business.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the automotive retail environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Financial Director will provide financial leadership across the business, ensuring strong financial governance, sustainable profitability and informed decision-making.
The successful candidate will partner closely with the Executive Committee and operational leadership to translate business strategy into financial performance and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management.
Lead the preparation and analysis of annual financial statements, financial results, management reporting and key performance indicators.
Partner with operational leaders to improve profitability, cost management and business performance.
Provide insight into revenue growth, margins, cash flow and return on investment.
Ensure strong financial governance, controls, risk management and compliance.
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
Support strategic business decisions, including acquisitions, investments, capital allocation and business optimisation.
Drive continuous improvement, process efficiencies and the effective use of technology and data.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, financial institutions and business partners.
Ensure the finance function remains aligned with the evolving needs of the automotive industry.
What We Are Looking For
A CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
Extensive senior finance leadership experience, preferably within the automotive, retail, dealership or related industries.
Proven experience in a complex, multi-site or group environment.
Strong commercial and strategic business acumen.
A demonstrated track record of driving financial performance and operational improvement.
Experience leading, developing and influencing high-performing teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
A hands-on, collaborative and commercially focused leadership style.
