Key Performance Areas


Lead and supervise the daily activities of artisans.
Assign tasks based on task priorities and team member skills.
Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of rigging equipment, transport vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
Conduct inspections and testing of rigging systems and components to ensure functionality and safety.
Diagnose and resolve rigging equipment issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Plan and oversee rigging tasks from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and procurement of materials.
Monitor task progress and adjust timelines as needed to ensure deadlines are met.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operation of rigging & maintenance, or upgrades.
Monitor maintenance schedule adherence of all job cards, statutory and preventive maintenance
Manage resource utilization
Work backlog control
Timeous return of completed Job Cards to Planning Office for capturing and recoveries.
Ensure all rigging equipment maintenance work complies with local, national, and international codes and safety regulations.
Promote a culture of safety within the team, conducting regular safety meetings and training.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and safety reports.
Ensure Team does BBS observations
Ensure Team perform check lists for safety equipment.
Ensure the provisioning of an effective maintenance service
Communicate with customers Internal and External.
Ensure minimum turnaround time for jobs done.
Ensure Customer Job Card Rating is done on all defect job cards.
Minimise non- conformances on work done
Manage the rigging section's budget and ensure cost-effective solutions.
Order and manage inventory of necessary parts, supplies and equipment.
Negotiate with vendors and suppliers for equipment, ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of team members.
Address any disciplinary issues and provide guidance for career development.
Foster a positive working environment and encourage teamwork.
Conduct Green Area Meetings (Toolbox Talk) every morning before dispatching employees to work areas


Minimum Qualifications:


Qualified Artisan Rigger - Trade Tested with Red Seal
Supervisory Certificate
Driver's License (Compulsory)


Minimum Experience:


Minimum 5 years' experience in Rigging equipment operations as an artisan/technician
2 years' experience in supervisory role
Good knowledge of Necsa site facilities and mobile equipment.
Computer literacy
