Furnace Operator at eThekwini Municipality

Key Responsibility Areas:


Performing the cremation of bodies.
Maintaining crematoria facilities grounds and infrastructure.
Maintaining allocated small plant and equipment in a clean and functional condition.
Assisting members of the general public.
Observing emission from the smoke stake to ensure that smoke emission is minimal.
Moving the coffin from the chapel to the committal chamber by engaging electronic as required.

Qualifications
Essential Requirements:


Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
Certification of competency in the operation of small plant and equipment to be acquired within 6 months from appointment.
3 Months relevant experience.


Preferred Requirements:


6 Months relevant experience.
