Minimum Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor's Degree / National Diploma in Mechanical or related field.
Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Mines & Works) - Essential
Minimum 8 years' engineering experience within mining and mineral processing operations
At least 3 years' experience in a senior engineering leadership position
Proven experience in both opencast mining equipment and processing plant maintenance
Sound knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and related legislation
Prior experience in dealing with the DMPR
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
Valid driver's licence
Candidates must be medically fit to perform duties in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
Act as the appointed GCC Engineer in accordance with the MHSA.
Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, statutory, and company engineering requirements.
Lead engineering maintenance and reliability initiatives for mobile mining equipment and fixed plant assets.
Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment availability and performance.
Manage engineering risks and ensure effective implementation of safety standards.
Monitor engineering budgets, capital projects, and operational expenditure.
Lead investigations into engineering-related incidents and implement corrective actions.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and maintenance teams
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and plant performance
Manage contractors and service providers in accordance with company standards
Support operational teams in achieving production and business objectives
