The General Manager - Pharmaceutical is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of the pharmaceutical business. The role drives revenue growth, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, market expansion, and profitability while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and ethical business practices.


PURPOSE OF THE ROLE


Lead and grow the pharmaceutical business.
Ensure compliance with all pharmaceutical regulations and quality standards.
Drive sales growth and market penetration.
Build strong relationships with suppliers, healthcare providers, regulators, and stakeholders.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership


Develop and execute business strategies for sustainable growth.
Identify new business opportunities and market expansion initiatives.
Monitor industry trends and competitive activities.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.


Commercial & Business Development


Lead sales and marketing teams to achieve revenue targets.
Develop partnerships with hospitals, pharmacies, distributors, and healthcare institutions.
Manage key supplier and manufacturer relationships.
Expand product portfolio and market reach.


Operations & Regulatory Compliance


Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and industry standards.
Oversee procurement, warehousing, distribution, and inventory management.
Monitor quality assurance and quality control processes.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders.


Financial Management


Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor profitability, costs, and financial performance.
Ensure efficient utilization of company resources.
Drive cost optimization and operational efficiency.


Leadership & Team Management


Lead and develop departmental managers and teams.
Establish performance objectives and KPIs.
Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and excellence.
Support talent development and succession planning.


QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business Administration, or related field.
MBA or Master's Degree is highly preferred.
Minimum 10 - 15 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, supply chain management, and commercial operations.
Demonstrated success in driving business growth and profitability.
