About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished Group Head, Corporate Finance & Investment to lead the Group's corporate finance, capital raising, investment management, and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) activities across our steel manufacturing, mining, and energy businesses.
The successful candidate will drive strategic investments, structure complex financing transactions, evaluate growth opportunities, oversee investment performance, and provide financial leadership that supports the Group's long-term expansion agenda. The role requires close collaboration with executive leadership, subsidiary CEOs, Board Committees, investors, financial institutions, and strategic partners.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the Group's corporate finance and investment strategy, including capital structure optimization, financial feasibility studies, and business case development for strategic projects.
Lead capital raising initiatives through project finance, syndicated loans, bonds, DFI funding, and other financing structures while managing relationships with banks, investors, and development finance institutions.
Originate and execute mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and strategic investments, including valuation, financial modelling, due diligence, negotiation, transaction execution, and post-deal integration.
Build and maintain advanced financial models, investment valuations, scenario analyses, and performance dashboards to support investment decisions and portfolio management.
Prepare investment papers, financial presentations, information memoranda, investor communications, and Board reports while supporting fundraising and investor relations activities.
Monitor market trends, commodity prices, regulatory developments, and investment performance, providing strategic recommendations to executive management and the Board.
Build and maintain strong relationships with investment banks, financial advisors, private equity firms, regulators, government agencies, and strategic partners.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing corporate finance and investment team while fostering excellence in transaction execution and financial analysis.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
MBA or Master's degree in Finance or a related field is an advantage.
ACA, ACCA, CFA, or an equivalent professional qualification is required.
Minimum of 12 - 18 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, project finance, private equity, or investment management.
Proven track record of structuring and closing transactions valued at USD50 million or more
Experience across at least two of the following sectors: Steel, Mining, Energy, Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, or Industrial Manufacturing.
Strong experience in financial modelling, valuation, project finance, M&A, debt structuring, capital raising, and investment analysis.
Previous experience within a holding company, diversified conglomerate, investment bank, or large industrial organization is highly desirable.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing corporate finance or investment teams.
