Job Summary
The Head of Legal and Compliance is a senior executive responsible for overseeing an organization's legal affairs and ensuring regulatory compliance across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all legal matters (contracts, disputes, corporate governance).
Provide strategic legal advice to executive leadership and the board.
Manage external counsel and litigation strategy.
Review and approve major agreements and partnerships. Ensure adherence to local and international laws and regulations.
Develop and maintain compliance programs and policies.
Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impact.
Lead internal audits and investigations. Identify legal and regulatory risks.
Implement risk mitigation strategies.
Oversee whistleblower programs and ethics frameworks.
Required Qualifications
Law degree (LLB and MSc in law ).
Licensed to practice law (in relevant jurisdiction).
10 - 12+ years of legal experience (often with corporate or regulatory focus).
Strong knowledge of industry regulations.
Leadership and strategic decision-making skills.
