Job Summary
The Head of Legal & Compliance Officer will be responsible for leading the legal function of Smash Technology, ensuring full regulatory compliance across all business operations, managing legal risk, and safeguarding the organization's interests.
The role requires strong expertise in corporate law, litigation management, regulatory compliance, and contract governance.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Governance:
Provide strategic legal advice to Management and all departments across Smash Technology.
Interpret laws, regulations, and policies affecting business operations.
Ensure company activities comply with applicable local and international legal frameworks.
Compliance Management:
Develop, implement, and enforce internal compliance policies and frameworks.
Monitor regulatory updates and ensure organizational alignment with statutory requirements.
Conduct periodic compliance audits and risk assessments.
Litigation Management:
Manage all litigation matters involving the company, including civil, criminal, and regulatory cases.
Liaise with external counsel and represent the company's legal interests where required.
Prepare legal documentation, pleadings, and case strategies.
Contract Management:
Draft, review, and negotiate all contracts, MOUs, vendor agreements, and partnership deals.
Ensure all contractual obligations are legally sound and protect company interests.
Risk Management:
Identify legal and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Advise management on potential legal exposures and preventive measures.
Corporate Governance:
Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards and best practices.
Support board and executive decision-making with legal insights and documentation.
Regulatory Engagement:
Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and law enforcement where necessary.
Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and legal documentation.
Internal Advisory:
Provide legal training and guidance to staff on compliance-related matters.
Support HR and Operations on disciplinary and employment-related matters.
Requirements
Minimum of 7 years post-call experience as a qualified legal practitioner.
Strong background in corporate law, compliance, and litigation.
Proven experience handling regulatory matters and corporate governance.
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced corporate environment.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Work Arrangement:
Full-time, onsite role (strictly no remote arrangement).
