Job Summary
The Head of Accounts will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the supermarket, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash management, and compliance with regulatory standards.
The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to drive financial efficiency in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting and financial operations of the supermarket
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Monitor daily sales, cash flow, and revenue reconciliation across outlets
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and proper documentation
Supervise and guide the accounts team to ensure efficiency and accuracy
Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
Implement cost control measures to improve profitability
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements
Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies
Monitor inventory-related financial activities and ensure proper valuation
Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
Professional certification (ICAN/ACCA) is required
5 - 8 years' experience in accounting, preferably in retail or FMCG
Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and compliance
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Experience handling high-volume transactions is an advantage.
