MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and coordinate the planning, development and implementation of AI's strategy for the protection and promotion worldwide of economic, social and cultural rights, including migrant labour issues, and to ensure that AI takes an effective and coordinated approach on these issues.
Manage the Economic and Social Juctice team, ensuring planning, coordination and distribution of work within the team, setting priorities, agreeing work plans, budgets and schedules; supporting research in progress and approving final outputs; monitoring adherence to operating standards, including the agreed guidelines on self-servicing; establishing systems to ensure feedback, mutual support and accountability; and identifying training and development needs.
Act as the movement's principal law and policy adviser on economic, social and cultural rights, including migrant labour issues, underpinning the quality assurance process with respect to major outputs; developing AI's policies and research, advocacy, and membership strategies on these issues and monitoring adherence by IS programs and the movement in order to ensure consistent and coordinated implementation at the international level, including in the context of the relevant AI campaigns.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Strong track record of the provision of legal and policy advice with respect to economic, social and cultural rights
Strong track record of interdisciplinary work - knowledge of economics/social sciences/development desirable
Demonstrated significant experience of managing people and resources
Experience of fundraising from foundations and trusts
