Executive Role Overview


We are seeking a high-calibre and results-driven Head of Information Technology (IT) to provide enterprise-wide leadership of the organization's technology strategy, infrastructure, and digital transformation agenda.
This role is a senior leadership position responsible for aligning technology with business priorities across the Group's operations in mining, energy, and manufacturing.
The successful candidate will drive innovation, optimize IT systems, and ensure a secure, resilient, and scalable technology environment that supports business growth and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities
Enterprise IT Strategy & Digital Transformation:


Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with corporate objectives and growth plans
Lead digital transformation initiatives across core business units and corporate functions
Identify and implement emerging technologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and competitive advantage
Provide strategic advisory to Executive Management on technology investments and innovation


IT Governance, Operations & Infrastructure:


Provide oversight of enterprise IT operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of systems
Lead the planning and execution of infrastructure projects, including network optimization, cloud adoption, and systems integration
Establish and enforce IT governance frameworks, standards, and policies
Ensure effective management of IT assets across their lifecycle


Cybersecurity & Risk Management;


Develop and implement robust information security frameworks to safeguard organizational data and systems
Monitor and mitigate cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risks
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Oversee security audits, penetration testing, and incident response protocols


Business Continuity & Resilience:


Design and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Ensure resilience of IT systems to support uninterrupted business operations


Leadership & Organizational Development:


Provide strategic leadership and direction to the IT function
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing IT team
Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement


Vendor & Stakeholder Management:


Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and service providers
Lead contract negotiations and ensure delivery of high-quality services
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align IT services with business needs


Financial Management & Optimization:


Develop and manage the IT budget in line with strategic priorities
Monitor IT expenditure and drive cost optimization initiatives
Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of technology resources


Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:


A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (Master's degree or relevant certifications is an added advantage)
10 - 15 years' progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
Proven experience leading IT strategy and transformation in complex, multi-entity or industrial environments
Strong expertise in enterprise infrastructure, systems architecture, and cybersecurity frameworks
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and large-scale enterprise applications
Strong commercial and strategic acumen with the ability to align IT initiatives with business outcomes
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
High level of professionalism, integrity, and decision-making capability
