Job Purpose

To lead and coordinate Health, Safety, and Environmental activities across the organization by implementing effective HSE systems, promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Management


Implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and standards.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure identified hazards are adequately controlled.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and drive closure of corrective actions.
Carry out routine workplace inspections and safety audits.
Monitor HSE performance and prepare periodic reports.
Promote employee participation in safety programs and initiatives.


Environmental Management


Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and company standards.
Monitor waste management, pollution control, and environmental improvement initiatives.
Maintain environmental records and regulatory reports.


Training & Awareness


Coordinate HSE induction and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and refresher training.
Support supervisors in implementing safe work practices.


Emergency Preparedness


Maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
Coordinate fire drills, emergency exercises, and evacuation activities.
Ensure emergency equipment remains serviceable and compliant.


Compliance & Continuous Improvement


Support compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and HSE standards.
Coordinate internal and external HSE audits.
Track corrective actions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Support management in achieving HSE objectives and targets.


Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree or HND in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or related discipline.
Relevant professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISPON, OSHA, or equivalent is required.


Experience


Minimum of 5 years' HSE experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, food processing, flour milling, or industrial environment.
Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, safety inspections, and HSE compliance.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience is desirable.
