About the Role


As the HR Generalist you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.
This position will be responsible for a variety of HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment, employee relations, performance management, talent management and compliance with HR policies and procedures. The role is further responsible for providing support and execution of HR projects with a huge focus on Employment Equity and ensuring OUPSA maintains the BBBEE level 1 status. Maintaining integrity, adhering to compliance requirements, and exercising discretion are paramount in interactions with employees, vendors, and stakeholders.
Throughout the employee lifecycle, you provide invaluable support and guidance, all while adhering to an organised and systematic approach. This role will be reporting to the HR Business Partner based in Goodwood, Cape Town.


Opportunity

What you will do:

Recruitment and Selection


Manage end-to-end recruitment for internal and external roles.
Advertise positions and ensure EE targets are met.
Coordinate annual intern recruitment with stakeholders (including Directors, SETAs, Higher Learning Institutions, etc.).
Maintain updated Job Description s aligned with the current organogram.
Prepare job adverts and support hiring managers.
Create and update social media recruitment content.
Schedule and coordinate induction sessions.
Ensure all new employees attend a structured induction programme.


HR Administration & Payroll


Manage HR administration, reporting, and monthly submissions accurately and on time.
Monitor headcount vs budget and complete headcount reconciliations.
Prepare SMT monthly HR reports.
Process supplier payments and manage HR vendors.
Support H&S compliance, IOD processing, and First Aider training coordination.
Monitor headcount vs budget reconciliations, BBBEE, Skills development, employment) to Senior Management.
Facilitate termination process and ensure accurate benefits administration.
Working knowledge across multiple HR disciplines including compensation, employee relations, diversity, and performance management.
Knowledge of employment legislation (OHSA, EEA, BCEA, LRA, and related regulations).


Learning & Development


Submit annual ATR and WSP to relevant institutions.
Coordinate internal training schedules and managed learnership funding processes.
Administer bursary programmes to support employee development.


Employment Equity & BBBEE


Provide documentation and support to achieve Level 1 BBBEE.
Coordinate monthly and annual Employment Equity, and Skills Development submissions.
Manage and support the D&I committee, ensuring business unit representation.
Track EE targets and highlight areas of concern.


HR Analytics


Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making.
Analyse people metrics and provide meaningful recommendations.
Present data trends and insights to management.


HR Projects & Wellbeing


Plan and execute wellness days across offices, engaging wellness champions and promoting internal EAP services.
Organise well-being talks based on employee trends.
Manage relationships with service providers to ensure best outcomes for employees.


About you


Strong experience in full HR lifecycle and recruitment.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
Keen attention to detail and passion for improving people processes.
Bachelors' Degree or Post Graduate degree in Human Resources/Social Sciences/Industrial Psychology.
Mininum 5 years working experience in the HR Field.
Knowledge of SA Labour Legislation including EE and BBBEE.
