Role Overview:

We are recruiting for a strategic, structured, and performance-driven HR Manager with proven experience in the pharmaceutical sector. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong expertise in performance management systems and HR policy implementation within a regulated environment.

This role is designed for a disciplined HR professional who is passionate about building accountability frameworks, enforcing governance standards, and driving measurable workforce performance. Experience operating in the pharmaceutical space is mandatory due to the compliance-sensitive nature of the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Management & Workforce Effectiveness


Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a robust performance management framework.
Drive KPI setting, structured appraisal cycles, performance reviews, and corrective action plans.
Embed a performance-driven culture across departments with clear accountability metrics.
Manage underperformance processes in strict alignment with company policy and labor laws.
Ensure performance systems are practical, measurable, and aligned to business strategy.


HR Policy Development & Implementation


Review, strengthen, and enforce HR policies and procedures in line with Kenyan labor laws and pharmaceutical industry regulations.
Ensure consistent policy interpretation and implementation across all departments.
Lead disciplinary processes with procedural fairness and compliance discipline.
Maintain well-structured HR documentation and governance systems.
Monitor adherence to internal policies and recommend improvements where necessary.


Talent Management & Workforce Planning


Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies aligned to business growth.
Implement succession planning and workforce capability development initiatives.
Identify training needs and coordinate structured learning programs.


Compliance & Regulatory Oversight (Pharmaceutical Environment)


Ensure strict adherence to labor laws and statutory obligations.
Maintain HR audit readiness and regulatory documentation.
Support compliance requirements specific to the pharmaceutical industry.


Employee Relations & Organizational Culture


Provide strategic HR advisory support to management.
Foster a culture centered on accountability, compliance, and performance excellence.
Manage grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution processes professionally.


HR Reporting & Analytics


Develop and present HR performance metrics and workforce reports.
Analyze workforce data to support executive decision-making.
Monitor trends in turnover, productivity, and employee performance.


Requirements and Qualifications

Education & Credentials


Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management.
Qualified CHRP


Experience


Minimum 5 years progressive HR experience.
Proven experience working within the pharmaceutical industry is required.
Demonstrated hands-on experience implementing performance management frameworks and enforcing HR policies.
