Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance & Policy Development
Draft, review, and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with Kenyan labour laws and industry best practices.
Conduct regular HR audits for Janta and client organizations, identifying compliance gaps and recommending corrective measures.
Oversee documentation and record-keeping related to employment contracts, disciplinary processes, and performance records.
Employee Relations & Engagement
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, conflict resolution, and grievances, mediating situations professionally and confidentially.
Foster a positive workplace culture by organizing team-building activities, facilitating feedback channels, and promoting open communication.
Collaborate with managers to address performance or conduct issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of disciplinary policies.
Recruitment & Onboarding Support
Work closely with the Recruitment Consultant to outline job requirements, screen candidates, and support interview processes when needed.
Coordinate onboarding programs—introducing new hires to company culture, ensuring proper documentation, and guiding them through initial training.
Provide input on candidate selection and ensure a smooth handover to client or internal teams for final placements.
Performance Management
Assist in developing and implementing performance appraisal systems, setting key performance indicators (KPIs), and measuring outcomes.
Coach managers and employees on goal-setting, feedback techniques, and professional development opportunities.
Track, analyze, and report performance data to identify trends and recommend necessary interventions.
Outsourced HR Services
Contribute to designing and delivering Janta's outsourced HR solutions for client organizations—covering policy development, compliance reviews, and employee assessments.
Act as a liaison between Janta and client HR teams, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and consistent service quality.
Stay updated on employment and labor regulations, advising clients accordingly to minimize legal risks.
HR Administration & Data Management
Oversee employee files, contracts, leave requests, and benefits administration, maintaining accurate records in compliance with data privacy standards.
Generate regular HR reports (e.g., turnover rates, employee engagement metrics) to assist in decision-making and service improvement.
Use HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) or other digital tools to automate processes where possible, improving efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or related field. CHRP or other HR certifications are a plus.
Work Experience:
2 - 4 years of HR generalist experience, preferably within a professional services or consulting environment.
Demonstrated understanding of Kenyan labour laws, HR policies, and best practices.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in HRIS or HR management software.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, especially for reporting and documentation.
Industry Knowledge: Exposure to recruitment or HR outsourcing services is an advantage.
