Job Advert Summary
Provide expert advisory, tactical and operational HC support in the implementation of HC strategies and solutions aligned with the business units objectives. The role supports frontline managers and employees at sites or clusters, ensuring effective HC service delivery, implementation of workforce initiatives, drives employee engagement and enables supervisors and senior leaders to effectively manage the workforce.
The HC consultant partners with line management to embed best practice in talent management, organisational development, performance, culture and compliance with labour practices and HR policies.
Minimum Requirements
Skills / Experience
A Bachelor's Degree (minimum 3 years) at NQF Level 7 is essential, with a specialisation in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Management Sciences, or a related discipline.
The qualification must provide a solid grounding in:
Human resource management principles
Labour relations and employment legislation
Organisational behaviour and workforce management
Business and management fundamentals
Professional registration with the South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) as a Human Resource Professional (HRP) is advantageous
Up to 4 years' relevant Human Resources experience in a generalist or operational HR role, preferably within a medium to large, decentralised organisation.
Experience must include hands-on exposure across the end-to-end HR value chain, with a strong operational focus

Key Responsibilities
HC Advisory and Implementation
Support the execution of divisional HC strategies aligned to organisational objectives
Partner with operational leaders to translate HC strategies into practical, site-level actions
Provide guidance on workforce planning, organisational design, and talent optimisation
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
Coordinate and execute end-to-end recruitment and selection processes
Partner with line managers on role requirements and hiring decisions
Manage onboarding processes and ensure alignment to approved HC practices
Support Employment Equity objectives through inclusive recruitment
Talent Management and Workforce Planning
Facilitate workforce planning processes aligned to business requirements
Support talent reviews and succession planning activities
Contribute to the development and retention of high-potential employees
Performance, Engagement and Culture
Drive the implementation of performance management processes and coach managers accordingly
Support engagement, culture, and EVP initiatives at site level
Analyse engagement data and support action planning to improve employee experience
Organisational Effectiveness and Change
Support organisational design, job profiling, and change initiatives
Assist with restructuring and implementation of business transformation initiatives
Contribute to the development of job profiles and competency frameworks
Employee Relations and Compliance
Provide advisory support on labour relations in line with legislation and company policy
Coordinate and support disciplinary processes, grievances, and poor performance management
Support union engagements and ensure procedural compliance in all ER/IR matters
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of ER/IR cases
HC Operations and Reporting
Manage HC processes including onboarding, offboarding, and employee records
Liaise with Shared Services and Payroll to resolve employee-related matters
Monitor workforce trends (e.g. absenteeism, turnover) and provide insights to leadership
Prepare and maintain regular HC reports and ensure data accuracy
