Our client, a leading professional services firm, is seeking a strategic HR Manager to align talent, culture and organisational growth. The HR Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing human resources strategies that align with the firm's objectives, culture, and compliance requirements. The role will ensure effective talent management, employee engagement, compliance with labour laws and professional codes of conduct, and the creation of a positive, high-performance workplace tailored to the unique environment of professional services.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
Provide leadership with data-driven insights (turnover trends, engagement metrics, recruitment outcomes, etc.) to support decision-making.
Collaborate with leadership to shape the firm's workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.
Align HR strategies with the firm's business goals and long-term growth strategy.
Talent Acquisition & Management
Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for all roles, ensuring quality hires and an excellent candidate experience.
Lead the firm's annual recruitment programme, ensuring attraction and selection of top talent aligned with the firm's values and standards
Ensure an inclusive, merit-based selection process that reflects the firm's diversity and equity commitments.
Develop and sustain a strong employer brand and talent pipeline through partnerships with universities and relevant training institutions
Design and manage a comprehensive onboarding and orientation program that immerses new hires into the firm's culture and expectations.
Facilitate induction sessions, mentorship pairings, and periodic check-ins to ensure smooth assimilation and engagement of new staff.
Employee Relations & Engagement
Act as a confidential point of contact for workplace concerns, grievances, and conflict resolution.
Foster an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture in line with the firm's values.
Champion well-being programs that address stress management, work-life balance, and mental health — critical in high-pressure professional services environments.
Develop and implement employee engagement strategies that promote belonging, motivation, and commitment across the firm.
Act as a culture ambassador, ensuring the firm's values are consistently demonstrated in leadership behaviour, communication, and people practices.
Partner with leadership to embed a positive and ethical workplace culture that reflects professionalism, respect, and teamwork
Compensation & Benefits Administration
Design competitive compensation structures aligned to market benchmarks.
Manage payroll administration, benefits programs, and statutory contributions.
Develop and implement reward and recognition initiatives that promote motivation and retention.
Support periodic benchmarking and pay reviews to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
Coordinate the implementation and communication of reward and recognition initiatives.
Oversee payroll input accuracy, benefits administration, and staff welfare initiatives.
Performance Management & Professional Development
Implement a structured performance review process with clear, measurable KPIs and business support teams.
Coordinate the goal setting, mid-year, and annual review cycles, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic priorities.
Create career pathways and competency frameworks for professional and administrative staff.
Support continuous learning and development to meet the evolving business needs.
Build a culture of continuous feedback, recognition, and accountability.
Guide management and line managers on effective performance conversations and development plans.
HR Operations
Maintain HR information systems, personnel files, and records in line with data protection and confidentiality standards.
Manage leave administration, contracts, promotions, transfers, and exit processes.
Policy & Compliance
Review, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures in line with employment law, firm values, and best practice.
Ensure policies are clearly understood and applied consistently across the firm.
Provide expert HR advice to leadership and managers on employee relations, compliance, and workplace standards.
Requirements
Have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Be a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) or equivalent
Be a practising professional member with a relevant professional body;
Have a minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience with at least two (2) years in a supervisory position, preferably within a professional services firm or a multinational environment;
Knowledge of Kenyan labour laws, HR best practices and strategic planning.
Strong organizational, interpersonal skills, communication, multitasking abilities and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in HR information systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office suite.
A proactive approach with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters..
