Position Summary
Reporting to the Head - Human Resources, the Human Resources Officer will be responsible for managing HRIS, recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, compensation and benefits support, training and development, and HR reporting. The role will support a positive workplace culture while ensuring adherence to HR best practices and Kenyan labour laws.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Human Resource Information Systems
Maintain accurate employee records, HR databases, leave records, and HRIS reports while ensuring timely updates and data integrity.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
Support recruitment processes including job postings, screening, interviews, candidate communication, onboarding, and maintenance of candidate databases.
Employee Relations & Communication
Handle employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary matters fairly and in line with company policies. Support employee engagement initiatives and workplace communication.
Performance Management
Support performance review processes, assist managers in setting KPIs, maintain performance records, and ensure appraisal timelines are observed.
HR Compliance & Policies
Support implementation and review of HR policies, ensure compliance with employment laws, maintain confidential records, and assist in HR audits and compliance checks.
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support
Support compensation and benefits administration, salary review processes, payroll input follow-ups, and resolution of payroll-related queries.
Training & Development
Identify training needs, coordinate training programs, track training records, and support employee development initiatives.
HR Reports & Analytics
Prepare accurate HR reports on key metrics such as recruitment, turnover, absenteeism, training, employee relations, and compliance to support management decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
Possession of CHRP certification or Higher National Diploma in Human Resources Management is mandatory.
IHRM membership is mandatory.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences, or equivalent from a recognized university is an added advantage.
At least 3 years' experience managing HR processes in a labour-intensive and unionisable environment.
Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience in HRMIS is mandatory.
Strong knowledge and working experience with Kenyan labour laws.
