ENVIRONMENT:
A provider of tailored Financial Solutions seeks the expertise of an Infrastructure Manager to fill this hands-on technical leadership role suited to a professional with deep, current experience across servers, virtualization, storage, networking, and security — not solely a management or oversight function. You will manage vendor relationships, and ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the organisation's infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will require at least 10 years' hands-on experience in enterprise IT infrastructure including SAN, LAN, WAN, Zero Trust and Enterprise Antivirus Solutions.
DUTIES:
Manage and maintain enterprise server infrastructure, including hypervisor/virtualization platforms, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
Own SAN and storage architecture, including capacity planning, replication strategy, and performance troubleshooting.
Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN architecture and multi-ISP failover configurations.
Manage firewall infrastructure, including security policy configuration, SSL inspection, and threat mitigation.
Own backup and disaster recovery strategy and execution, including regular restore testing and ransomware-resilient backup design.
Lead, mentor, and develop a technical team, setting clear standards and providing hands-on technical guidance.
Manage infrastructure vendors, contracts, and budgets.
Ensure infrastructure changes are governed through appropriate change management and risk assessment processes.
Produce infrastructure performance, capacity, and incident reporting for senior management.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 10 years' hands-on experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, with demonstrable, current technical depth across the majority of the following areas:
Server administration and hypervisor/virtualization technologies
SAN and enterprise storage systems
Networking (LAN/WAN design, routing, switching)
Firewall and network security management
Backup and disaster recovery solutions
Zero Trust / Enterprise Antivirus Solutions
Proven experience leading or mentoring a technical team.
Strong troubleshooting and incident management capability, with a track record of resolving complex, high-pressure infrastructure incidents.
Advantageous -
Relevant technical certifications (virtualization, network security, backup/DR, or equivalent).
Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related field.
