Job Description
A well-established real estate company is looking for an experienced Junior Accountant with 2 - 5 years of accounting experience, including completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate accounting records, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting month-end, year-end, and audit processes.
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Perform month-end and year-end accounting processes.
Prepare and post journals, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations.
Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
Prepare VAT calculations and statutory submissions.
Assist with annual audits and provide supporting audit documentation.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and relevant South African legislation.
Prepare financial analysis and management reports.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Monitor cash flow and support treasury-related functions.
Review and reconcile debtor and creditor accounts.
Identify and implement improvements to financial controls and accounting processes.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial support and guidance.
Perform general accounting and finance-related duties as required.
Requirements:
BCom Accounting, BCom Financial Accounting, or an equivalent tertiary qualification.
Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles (essential).
2 - 5 years' accounting experience, including articles.
Experience using CaseWare.
Strong knowledge of South African accounting standards, IFRS, and tax legislation.
Experience preparing financial statements and management reports.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
