Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Junior Drill Rig Technician to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot drilling equipment used in field operations. The successful candidate will ensure efficient drilling activities while adhering to project specifications and health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate drill rigs and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on drilling equipment.
Inspect machinery before and after use to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor drilling parameters such as depth, pressure, and speed, making necessary adjustments.
Interpret drilling plans, technical drawings, and site specifications.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Maintain accurate drilling logs, reports, and operational records.
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues.
Collaborate with site engineers, geologists, and supervisors during drilling operations.
Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of tools, equipment, and work areas.
Requirements
Minimum of OND, HND, or a Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
3 - 4 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining drill rigs.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Good understanding of drilling techniques and drilling equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
Physically fit and capable of working in demanding outdoor environments.
Willingness to work in remote locations and rotational shifts when required.
