Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
Identify and develop new sales opportunities and potential customers.
Promote the company's tempered glass and related products to prospective customers.
Visit construction sites, offices, showrooms, companies, and other potential client locations when required.
Generate leads through telephone calls, referrals, networking, social media, and field visits.
Follow up on leads, quotations, enquiries, and prospective customers.
Assist in achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Maintain a database of prospective and existing customers.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
Understand customers' requirements and recommend suitable products.
Respond promptly to customer enquiries and complaints.
Follow up with customers after sales to ensure satisfaction.
Maintain regular communication with contractors, builders, architects, interior designers, dealers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Product Knowledge:
Develop good knowledge of the company's glass products, specifications, applications, and pricing.
Explain product features and benefits to customers accurately.
Keep up to date with developments in the glass, building, construction, and interior-design industries.
Sales Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare and submit quotations and sales-related documents as directed.
Maintain accurate records of customer enquiries, leads, sales, and follow-ups.
Submit daily/weekly sales activity reports to the Sales Manager.
Monitor pending orders and follow up where necessary.
Communicate customer requirements accurately to the relevant internal departments.
Market Research:
Identify new market opportunities and potential customer segments.
Monitor competitors' products, pricing, and activities.
Provide feedback to management regarding customer needs and market trends.
Identify potential construction projects and businesses that may require glass products.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the production, accounts, logistics, and administrative teams to ensure smooth order processing and delivery.
Escalate customer issues and special requests to the appropriate department.
Participate in sales meetings, training, and company activities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The Junior Sales Officer may be assessed based on:
Monthly sales achieved.
Number of new customers acquired.
Number of qualified leads generated.
Customer follow-up effectiveness.
Conversion of enquiries to sales.
Customer retention and satisfaction.
Number of site/client visits conducted.
Accuracy and timeliness of sales reports.
Contribution to overall departmental sales targets.
Qualifications & Requirements
OND, HND, B.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field.
0 - 2 years of sales experience; fresh graduates with strong communication and sales abilities may be considered.
Experience in the construction, building materials, glass, aluminium, interior design, or related industry is an advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service and negotiation skills.
Ability to meet sales targets and work with minimal supervision.
Good knowledge of Lagos and ability to travel for customer visits when required.
Basic computer literacy, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to prepare simple sales reports and maintain customer records.
Must be confident, presentable, proactive, and result-oriented.
