Job Summary


The Kitchen Assistant supports the Cook and kitchen team in the preparation of meals, maintenance of kitchen cleanliness, and smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
The role is essential in ensuring that food preparation and service are carried out efficiently and hygienically.


Key Responsibilities


Assist the Cook in food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
Wash, peel, cut, and prepare ingredients for cooking.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items.
Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies.
Ensure proper storage of food items in line with hygiene standards.
Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately and maintain cleanliness.
Support stock-taking and inventory management.
Refill kitchen supplies and ingredients when required.
Comply with all food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
Assist with serving and plating meals when necessary.


Qualifications and Experience


Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment is an added advantage.
Basic knowledge of food handling and kitchen safety procedures.
Hospitality or catering training will be an added advantage.
