Minimum Qualification / Experience
Matric / Grade 12.
Relevant tertiary qualifications advantageous
Must be in possession of a valid unendorsed RSA Driver's license
In depth knowledge of quality testing procedures and required specifications
Excellent attention to detail; accuracy and problem-solving skills
Proficient in MS Office including Excel and relevant Lab information management systems
Medically fit to work in a laboratory environment, including ability to lift heavy weights when required
Ability to follow structured processes and controls
Strong leadership, communication and organizational abilities
Demonstrate excellent time management skills
Ability to multitask and to work under pressure
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
Ensure all testing is done accurately and timeously according to specified test methods.
Review, verify and authorize all lab test results and compile required reports as requested.
Ensure testing frequency targets are met.
Management of all daily activities and housekeeping at the Lab
Track individual KPI's and arrange training and development for the lab technicians.
Conduct regular task observations to ensure competency and compliance.
Implement the required action for non-conformance.
Ensure adherence to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Manage the Quality system requirements of the laboratory.
Delegate daily tasks to technicians.
Compile reports for management at specified intervals
Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated; maintained and cleaned.
Arrange external lab testing as required.
Assist production managers and clients to resolve material issues and provide technical support.
