Our client a Nephrology and Oncology clinic is seeking to recruit a Laboratory Technologist to join their team. They shall be responsible for quality collection, analysis, and reporting of laboratory tests in accordance with established clinical, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities


Collect, process, and handle blood and other biological specimens according to established procedures, including home sample collection when required.
Instruct patients on proper specimen collection techniques.
Perform clinical laboratory tests in hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid.
Perform blood counts using microscopy and conduct blood tests for transfusion purposes.
Draw blood samples observing aseptic techniques.
Develop and maintain cell or tissue cultures where applicable.
Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and validity of test results.
Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and testing systems.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and reports.
Adhere to safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Take responsibility for laboratory consumables issued.
Attend all professional trainings related to the role.
Collect blood samples and swabs (nasal, oral, and skin).
Participate in medical camps and marketing activities.
Ensure test turnaround times are met and reports released promptly.


Education, Skills & Knowledge


Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences will be an added advantage.
Registered with KMLTTB and holder of a valid annual practicing license.
Minimum of 3 years relevant clinical laboratory experience.
Strong knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control standards.
Ability to prepare, process, and analyze laboratory samples using established protocols.
Competence in quality control procedures and laboratory instrumentation.
Knowledge of tissue culture techniques and sterile procedures.
Computer literacy and ability to use laboratory information systems.
