Role Summary
We are looking for a senior Credit Modeller & Data Scientist to lead the development, validation, and improvement of credit risk models and data-driven decision systems.
This role will support smarter underwriting, stronger portfolio monitoring, and better lending decisions through analytics, machine learning, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage credit scoring models, including application, behavioural, and collections scorecards
Build PD, LGD, and EAD models in line with IFRS 9 and regulatory standards
Use machine learning and advanced analytics to improve lending decisions, fraud detection, and portfolio performance
Monitor, validate, and recalibrate models using standard performance metrics
Work with data, product, engineering, and credit teams to improve automated decision systems
Analyze portfolio trends and provide insights for credit policy and risk strategy
Lead and mentor a team of analysts and data scientists
Present insights and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
5 - 10+ years of experience in credit risk modelling or data science within banking, fintech, or microfinance
Strong knowledge of statistical modelling, machine learning, and credit risk frameworks
Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, SAS, or similar tools
Experience with BI tools and model deployment platforms is an advantage
